Yarbo Moments: Kent Ross and the Yarbo RoadMap Show

Our journey led us to New York, where we had the pleasure of visiting Kent Ross—one of our dedicated PPP members. But this visit wasn’t just about catching up; we also partnered with Kent to host the Yarbo RoadMap Show! This wasn’t our first collaboration—back in the summer of 2024, we had an incredible experience hosting a RoadMap Show together. This time, we reunited to bring the excitement once again!

A Creative Winter Simulation

Despite the cold and crisp weather, there was no snow on the ground. But that didn’t stop us! We got creative and used ice blocks to simulate winter conditions, showcasing Yarbo’s adaptability in challenging environments. The demonstration sparked engaging discussions among attendees, who were eager to see how Yarbo performs across different terrains and weather conditions.

Connecting with the Community

Beyond the live demo, this event was a fantastic opportunity to connect with the community, share insights, and discuss future improvements. Kent’s passion for Yarbo was evident as he introduced the machine, shared his hands-on experience, and answered questions. His deep understanding and enthusiasm left a lasting impression on everyone present.

Impressive Lawn Mower Performance

Kent shared that his Yarbo successfully mowed 1.4 acres of lawn during the summer, demonstrating the robot’s efficiency and reliability in large yard spaces.

Practical No-Vision Zone Function

Kent has flat but slightly raised stones in his yard and wanted Yarbo to drive over them without detection. After setting up the no-vision zone, the machine worked exactly as intended, aligning perfectly with our initial design goals.

Quiet and Efficient Plow Mode

Kent reported that Yarbo’s plow mode provided excellent battery life, lasting 4–5 hours at night, while operating quietly—an ideal feature for nighttime use without disturbance.

Enhancing Transparency in Firmware Updates

Kent and other users have expressed interest in more transparency regarding Yarbo’s DC firmware updates. They suggested a uniform update schedule and release notes similar to our firmware updates to keep users informed and engaged.
